Micro Junior

Q: Is it possible to measure the winding resistance of a xformer with the Micro-Junior?

A: The Output Voltage of the Micro-Junior is maximum 2 Volts DC. This inductive load takes a very long time. But, there will be an optional power source available very soon that incorporates 50VDC and 50A. With this new option the Micro-Junior can easily perform the test.

TR-Spy MarkII

Q: How is the phase angle sign (+-) defined, in regard to leading or lagging of the primary to the secondary, that is displayed on the TR-Spy Mark II?

A: There are two different rules for Power Transformers and Measuring Transformers that define leading or lagging phase angles. The operator can select the method that best defines their requirements. This selection can be found in the Option Menu. Your TR-Spy Mark II may not have this option. If this is the case, please go to the download center to get the newest firmware download and update your MarkII with the free download software: SpyTools.
